Joan Lamphier Memorial Research Foundation was formed in 2004 by Lindsay and John Landes in loving memory of Ms. Joan Lamphier. The Fund seeks to encourage the development of novel approaches to improving the medical care of patients with pulmonary hypertension. The ultimate goals are to improve the quality of pulmonary hypertension patients’ (and their families’) lives, and to disseminate information regarding this complex disorder to the medical community and to the public at large.
This Research Fund was created in the memory of a very special pulmonary hypertension patient, Ms. Joan Lamphier, by her daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay Lamphier Landes and John Landes. Joan was a tireless advocate for many communities over several decades. Her leadership and activism on issues related to women’s rights, health care for the elderly, and affordable housing will be the inspiration for the work supported by the Fund.
